The CÚIRT International Literature Festival, in collaboration with Cló Iar-Chonnacht and supported by Ealaín na Gaeltachta, is organising an online workshop for Irish writers conducted entirely through the Irish language on Monday, June 10th, from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Irish time.

The workshop theme will be ‘New Work Based on Dinnseanchas: The Lore of Places’.

Workshop Directors:

Mícheál Ó Ruairc and Bríd Ní Mhóráin, in collaboration with Micheál Ó Conghaile.

Irish language writers interested in participating in the workshop are invited to submit their work (one or two poems or a piece of prose – fiction, flash story, or essay – not exceeding 5 pages) related to some aspect of dinnseanchas to moccic22@outlook.com BEFORE Saturday, June 4th, 2024.

  • There will be space for approximately eight people in the workshop.
  • Both established writers and those who are just starting out are welcome.
  • Attendance at this workshop is free of charge.

The most suitable works will be selected for discussion and evaluation during the workshop. Through this collaborative approach, all participants will have the opportunity to actively engage with each other’s work, learning from both its weaknesses and strengths.
