The novel Flaitheas by Proinsias Mac a’ Bhaird tells the story of Saint Colmcille from a fresh perspective.
Criomhthann is a young man destined for the life of a noble. However, he questions that fate, and, due to a personal tragedy, he is guided to seek a different kind of life—though this new journey will not be without struggle. Flaitheas tells the story of a person trying to make sense of a turbulent life, a person struggling with destiny, someone who makes mistakes but strives to do the right thing for himself and those around him. It’s a story for all of us.
