Clive Geraghty spent over four decades with the Abbey Theatre Company. He received his training there, but the company was disbanded in 2004. In this book, he looks back on the life of the professional actor and the theatre scene in Ireland over the past half century.
He spent seven years working as a technician in the Air Corps before being accepted as a member of the acting school at the Abbey Theatre in 1963. He was taken into the company when he left the army and spent over forty years there, working on more than 200 plays.
He did a lot of work on plays on radio and television. He has written plays for radio, short stories, essays for Sunday Miscellany and The Living Word and for Aistí ón Aer and spent a period as a writer for Fair City. He left the National Theatre in 2005 and headed to Maynooth University, where he obtained a Diploma in Irish and later a degree in Modern and Old Irish.
