Aisteoirí Ghaoth Dobhair 1931 – 1981 gives a comprehensive account of the history of the community theatre group Aisteoirí Ghaoth Dobhair between 1931 and 1981. The book is full to the brim of photos from the time, contemporary accounts, and reports and all brought together masterfully by Noel Ó Gallchóir.

Aisteoirí Ghaoth Dobhair was well known for many years locally but also on the national and international stage. The group won trophies and awards at festivals, feis events, and competitions and they were very influential in achieving recognition for Irish-language theatre.

The author Noel Ó Gallchóir lives in Gort an Choirce and was involved with the Cumann Scoildrámaíochta for many years and Comhlachas Náisiúnta Drámaíochta from 1976 to 1996. He was a member of Aisteoirí Ghaoth Dobhair and Aisteoirí Ghort an Choirce as well as an Béal Binn and Éigse Uladh. He himself has won many awards for theatre and drama including Oireachtas na Gaeilge, Scór as well as others at festivals and other events. He was awarded the Stewart Parker Irish-Language writing award in 2015.
