A novel by Pádraig Standún. Satellite images reveal that an enormous wall is being built on a small coastal island in Ireland. The locals were aware of the big project but the national media wasn’t interested in the story until they heard that the wall could be seen from space. A local man who has returned to the island having spent years abroad working in big construction projects. He says that he is building the wall to protect the island in the event of a tsunami due to climate change. But is this the truth? Who is paying for this expensive project? It emerges that Taim’s wife Róisín is building another wall on the other side of the island. Has someone won the lotto?
