Novel with glossary – paperback

Ceann Fhaoladh was a soldier and scholar who lived in the seventh century.  He was known as a professor and king in Foxford, where he had a fort between Gortahork & Falcarragh.  He wrote the first ever book in the Irish language.  He compiled Irish grammar when the only other grammar available at that time for any language were for Greek & Latin.  He was instrumental in changing the main language of Irish studies from Latin to Irish.  He was also a warrior who fought bravely in the Battle of Magh Rath.  This novel is based on his own writings, accounts of it in manuscripts, books and stories told about him in his local area.  The achievements of Ceann Fhaoladh on the battlefield and academically are vividly described, as we get to know one of the great heros of the Gaels.
