Teenager Ibrahima Balde becomes the main breadwinner for his family after his father dies. When he realises that his younger brother has run away to look for work by heading for Europe, Ibrahima leaves his home in Guinea, West Africa, in search of his sibling.
Throughout his epic journey Ibrahima encounters many obstacles and challenges along the way. He endures prejudice and hardship on his travels but also experiences the kindness of strangers. This is Ibrahima’s memoir, as told to Bascan poet, Amets Arzallus Antia.
