Oisín McGann is an Irish writer and illustrator who writes books in a variety of genres for children and teenagers. He writes science fiction and fantasy. He writes and illustrates many of his own books.
Fearghas Mac Lochlainn is a former primary school teacher who lives in An Spidéal in County Galway. He is known for his children’s books, songwriting and many other genres. He has also done some work as an illustrator with ‘Fighting Words Chonamara’. Fearghas has translated a number of children’s books into Irish. These include five from the ‘Dónall Dána’ series and ten from the ‘O’Brien Flyers’ series. Fearghas edited the collection of lúibíní ‘Comhrá Cosáin’. He has also written several works of his own, including ‘Puisín na mBróg’ which was shortlisted by Children’s Books Ireland for the Children’s Book of the Year Award 2026. The picture book ‘Puisín na mbróg’ was shortlisted for children’s book of the year in the KPMG Ireland Children’s Book Awards, 2026.
