Tadhg Dall Ó hUiginn was one of Ireland’s greatest poets. He was born into a family of hereditary poets in North Connaught. Through his work, he got to know the greatest leaders of his time – O’Neill, O’Donnell, O’Connor Sligo, and the Burkes of Connaught. In this book, we learn about the life of the Gaelic poet, from his schooling to his composing, and to his life in the houses and castles of the Gaelic nobility. We also get an insight into life in Northern Connaught and on Gaelic history in the 16th Century.
